I had taken this picture of a face during a figure shoot about 15 years ago which always intrigued me because it had a wonderful peaceful quality about it but I never did anything with it. While recently visiting Thailand I was inspired by the enormous Buddha on the hill and I had an idea for a series. I layered different textures with her face to embody the different facets that make up humanity. A curator saw the images and commissioned me to do them at 72" x 60" for the lobby of the Found:re Hotel, a boutique art hotel in Phoenix. They each are an edition of five and are available for commissions in other sizes.
